The most delicious Paleo waffles that are grain, gluten and dairy-free! Crispy exteriors with a pillowy soft interior, kid-friendly, freezer-friendly, refined sugar-free. Great for breakfast, brunch and also are delicious with avocado mash or even almond butter and jam!
Top with your favorite – maple syrup, warmed honey, berries, fresh fruit, coconut whipped cream!
I’ve been eating waffles forever. You too? When I started a grain-free, dairy-free diet 5 years ago, I really thought waffles were history. Waffles were a favorite treat on Sunday mornings and I’m so glad this tradition can continue!
Poached eggs are another tradition, and let me tell you, this waffle topped with a freshly poached egg is heaven. So good!
Finding a gluten-free waffle without unwanted ingredients that also tastes great isn’t easy.
How To Make Paleo Waffles:
Step 1: Gather and measure the ingredients. (Complete list in printable recipe card below).
Step 2: Add the dry ingredients to a medium sized mixing bowl.
Step 3: Add the wet ingredients to a large mixing bowl.
Step 4: Preheat electric waffle iron.
Step 5: Whisk the dry ingredients until well combined and so there are no lumps.
Step 6: Whisk the wet ingredients until well combined.
Step 7: Add the dry ingredients to the wet and stir to combine into a batter. (See below)
Step 8: Scoop waffle batter into heated waffle maker and cook per manufacturer’s direction.
This is my favorite waffle maker because it makes crispy, delicious and perfect sized waffles.
Enjoy with some maple syrup, fresh fruit, berries, coconut whipped cream. Great toasted with some almond butter and jam!
Freezer friendly – I like to make a large batch and freeze for later. Heat up individual waffles in the toaster oven as needed.
Tips When Making Paleo Waffles:
- Try adding some fresh blueberries or mini chocolate chips for a special treat.
- For extra-crisp, pop the waffle into the toaster oven for a minute or two.
- Great served with some warm maple syrup or raw honey, or fresh fruit such as berries and bananas.
- Top with eggs (scrambled, poached, etc…), avocado mash, guacamole, sauteed mushrooms, almond butter, and jam. Lots of ideas!
- Great served along with a Whole30 Sausage.
- I like to use two waffles as a sandwich with my Whole30 chicken salad as the filling.
- Make a double or triple batch and freeze for later. Simply heat up the waffle in the toaster or toaster oven.

The waffles live up to the author’s description. They are crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Most importantly, very tasty!
