This Banana Pineapple Smoothie is a quick, easy, delicious, creamy, and refreshing healthy breakfast or snack!
This tropical pineapple smoothie is vegan, dairy-free, and the perfect sweet treat.
This is one of my favorite summertime smoothies. Since you make it yourself, you control the ingredients. My favorite milk of choice is coconut milk.
You could easily omit the banana and it would still be an amazing smoothie. In that case, I would use extra ice or frozen pineapple to get the consistency of a cold, creamy beverage.
And if in the mood, a splash of rum goes great with this banana pineapple smoothie!

How to cut a pineapple – I have a great step-by-step tutorial.
How to make a pineapple smoothie:
- Gather all the ingredients and place them in a high-speed blender.
Blend all the ingredients for several minutes until creamy smooth.
Pour your pineapple smoothie into glasses and consume it right away. This smoothie can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator, for up to several days.
I love to serve it with a pineapple slice garnish.
It will make one large smoothie or two small smoothies.
Frozen Pineapple Smoothie:
- Use frozen pineapple
Tips and Buying Pineapple:
- Since pineapple has thick skin and is less vulnerable to chemicals, I use non-organic pineapple.
- Readily available at the grocery store (fresh and frozen).
- Stock up if pineapple goes on sale.

Ahhhh – that looks so refreshing. I just love smoothies (and so do my kids!) and this is just pure perfection! I love pineapple in smoothies, too – it’s such a tart, sweet delicious flavor! And with the coconut milk – I may just need to dig out some little drink umbrellas! 🙂
Christine
Thanks Gretchen!

Hehe, I was wondering where you got pineapple in the middle of what is practically already winter here! Now I wish our supermarkets sold frozen fruits.. Sometimes I hate my country 😛
The smoothie sounds delicious btw! I would’ve never thought pineapple works with almond..
Christine
Oh, the pineapple comes from Trader Joe’s. One of my favorite stores for sure!
I am going to check out your Barmbrack Cake as I am intrigued!

Hi Mallory,
I so agree!

Pineapple is my favorite ingredient in a smoothie, it’s really good with banana. I love these little frozen chunks from Trader Joe’s, pretty cheap and easy to blend them! Double Miam!
Christine
Hi Rika,
We are on the same wavelength!
Kelly @ hidden fruits and veggies
Normally when we buy pineapple, we just get a fresh one for juicing. This sounds SO good, I’ll have to try it!
Christine
