This is one of my favorite summertime smoothies!
How to make a pina colada smoothie:
Step 1: Gather and measure the ingredients. You’ll need pineapple juice, coconut milk, frozen pineapples, and a banana.
Step 2: Add the ingredients to a high-speed blender and blend for about a minute until all the ingredients are smooth.
Step 3: Pour into a glass and enjoy!
Smoothie tips:
- Use a high-speed blender, but a regular blender will also work.
- Add more coconut milk (or milk), or water if the smoothie is too thick.
- In a pinch, you can substitute water for the milk or substitute different milk.
- Use frozen fruit to get a creamy smooth consistency.
- Buy bags of frozen fruit at the grocery store or cut up and freeze your own.
- The recipe can be doubled to make two smoothies.

What alcohol is in pina colada?
- Usually rum!
Health benefits of pineapples:
Pineapples have bromelain, an enzyme that studies show reduces inflammation and swelling, and helps digestion. Additionally, all the ingredients are affordable and convenient to find. I usually buy a bag of frozen pineapple chunks, which lasts for several frozen tropical fruit smoothie servings. I love that this smoothie is so easy and convenient. The pineapple and orange add loads of vitamin C.
Enjoy this smoothie any time of day – breakfast, as a snack, or take it to go!
And if you added a splash of rum, you would likely have a tasty, refreshing, Pina Colada!
