Chocolate Milk Banana Smoothie:
You could try making this smoothie without a banana (which I have not tried), but it is the sweetener and creates most of the creaminess in this smoothie. A possible substitution would be maple syrup, more almond butter, or perhaps avocado or a Japanese sweet potato.

Cacao vs. Cocoa – Raw, organic cacao powder and cocoa powder are processed differently. Cocoa powdered is processed at a higher temperature.
“That means that cacao, which is less processed, has more powerful antioxidant effects and health benefits.”
Is cacao really good for you? Cacao is rich in nutrients such as magnesium, iron, potassium, calcium, zinc, copper, and manganese. Plus, it is reported to contain antioxidants, help regulate insulin levels and lower blood pressure.
Use a high-speed blender like a Nutribullet or Vitamix for best results with frozen ingredients (banana, ice cubes).
So, even on days when I have a paintbrush in one hand and a roller in the other, this smoothie comes to my rescue. 🙂
