This creamy, delicious tropical dragon fruit smoothie (pitaya) is not just beautiful, but also made with just a few ingredients and so delicious!   Dairy-free, vegan, grain-free and gluten-free, and Paleo, this smoothie also has lots of vitamin C and antioxidants.

And, it’s super easy to whip up in minutes!

Dragon fruit, also known as pitaya, is a tropical fruit with either bright pink flesh or white flesh.

It has a mild flavor, so your smoothie will taste most like the fruits and veggies you add.

For a green smoothie, try the Anti-Inflammatory Smoothie.

    Ingredients:

    • Dragon Fruit
    • Mango
    • Strawberries
    • Chia Seed
    • Milk
    • Banana

How To Make A Dragon Fruit Smoothie:

Step 1 – Gather and measure the ingredients.

Step 2- Add all the ingredients to a blender and blend for a minute or two until the mixture is creamy and smooth.

Enjoy in a smoothie bowl or pour into a glass and drink. See smoothie and smoothie bowl tips further down the post (below).

Once blended, the smoothie turns this amazing Fuschia color!  I prefer a high-speed blender for this task.

How Do You Make A Dragon Fruit Smoothie Bowl?

    1. Make the dragon fruit smoothie, but make sure it is thick (ice cream texture).
    2. Pour into a bowl.
    3. Add toppings like fresh berries, shredded coconut, chopped nuts, chia seeds, cacao nibs, hemp seeds, etc…

Smoothie bowls are simple and delicious!

    Tips and Substitutions:

    • Dragon fruit smoothie with almond milk; you could substitute another non-dairy milk.
    • Dragon fruit smoothie packs are convenient and found in the freezer section of the grocery store.  You could use frozen dragon fruit chunks or fresh dragon fruit cut in chunks in this smoothie.
    • If the smoothie is too thick, add a bit more liquid (water or dairy-free milk).  If the smoothie is too thin, add more frozen fruits or ice.
    • Swap out the fruits used for what you have on hand.  (E.g. Pineapple for mango, orange for strawberry, blueberries, etc..).
    • Throw in some fresh or frozen spinach for added veggies.
    • Add some honey or maple syrup if the smoothie is not sweet enough for you.
