Homemade Cashew Butter!

Homemade Cashew Butter is super easy to make, with just a few ingredients.  Cashew nut butter is creamy, free of additives, vegan and gluten-free!

Ingredients

  • 16 ounces raw cashews (about 3 1/2 cups)
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt

Instructions

  1. Place cashew pieces in a high powered blender or food processor.

  2. Blend for about 5- 10 minutes total (will depend on your machine) until your nuts become creamy (to the consistency you desire). There are stages to this process and every few minutes it is best to turn off the machine and using a spatula scrape down the nuts and break up clumps.

Tips and Techniques:

  • For roasted cashew butter, place the cashews on a parchment-lined baking sheet, spread out the nuts, and roast for 10 minutes at 350 degrees F.
  • If the cashew butter seems too thick, continue to blend, but you can also add a teaspoon of oil (coconut oil, olive oil, etc...).
  • To make quick cashew milk, add one tablespoon of cashew butter with one cup of water to a blender and blend until combined.
