How to cut a mango - and several ways to scoop the flesh out! Mangoes are delicious fruit available readily in grocery stores and are used in a variety of recipes. I particularly love them in smoothies! They are refreshingly naturally sweet but can be a little intimidating at first to cut and serve. Use this step by step guide to successfully cut a mango.
Step 1: Wash and dry the mango.
Step 2: Using a sharp knife, hold the mango straight up and cut one side off. See the photos below in the post. Beware that the mango has a core.
Step 3: Repeat by cutting the other side off.
Step 4: Then cut the shorter other two sides off as shown in photos in the post.
Step 5: To scoop the mango out, you can use a small glass and slide it under the mango flesh and scoop it. You'll see in the photos in the post about how the solid piece of mango ends up in the glass. It's really easy as the mango was ripe.
It's best to consume the fresh mango right away, but it can be store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a few days.
