Christmas Potpourri!

Christmas potpourri is an easy way to bring the lovely holiday scents into your home.   When the weather starts to get cooler, I just love to have a simmering pot of this DIY potpourri on the stove or in the slow cooker. It's one of the quickest ways to get into the holiday spirit! And a Christmas potpourri gift is an inexpensive, welcome gesture that shows the recipient your thoughtfulness.

  • 1 cup fresh cranberries
  • 3 dried orange slices (This recipe is coming soon to the blog or you can purchase these online or in stores).
  • 2 sprigs Rosemary
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 teaspoons whole cloves
  • 2 Star anise

Instructions

  1. Gather and measure the ingredients.

  2. Place all the ingredients in a glass jar with a lid.

  3. Add festive ribbon to decorate the jar.

Recipe Notes

NOTE:   If not gifting, just put all the above ingredients into a slow cooker or pan for the stovetop and follow tag directions.

Notes:

  1. Substitute dehydrated grapefruit, clementine, tangerine, or lemon slices, or a combination for dehydrated orange slices.
  2. Substitute one fresh clementine for dehydrated orange slices.
  3. If your jar or container is larger or smaller than the amount of potpourri the recipe makes, you can simply add more or fewer ingredients until your container is the desired level of filling.
  4. This potpourri can also be heated on the stovetop if preferred, just follow slow cooker instructions and heat on low.
